money.loan-application·version 1.0.0·draft4 to verify
The company submits one complete, honest application to the chosen lender and records the decision and the terms.
The company needs borrowed money and has decided what for. Not for deciding *whether* to borrow — that decision comes out of money.cash-forecast-13w. Not for grant money — use money.grant-application, the paperwork and the reporting duties are different. Not for renegotiating an existing loan — that is a new run of this playbook with the existing agreement as an input.
money.month-close done) — lenders read the latest figures.Any step can wait until a date and reopens by itself; every closed step leaves evidence (a note, a link, a number).
Pull from the money module: balance sheet and P&L for the last two closed years, the current year to date, the 13-week forecast, and the debt list (every existing loan, leasing, overdraft, with balance and monthly payment).
Done when one document contains all of it, each figure traceable to the ledger.
Approval · S2 · owner — the run stops until a named person records the decision
Write the standard set: purpose, amount, requested term, what repays it (which revenue or cost saving), existing debts, and the collateral the company can offer. Attach the figures pack and the register extract.
Done when the draft is complete and the owner has read it and named anything to change.
⛔ Do not round the numbers "to look cleaner" — every figure must match the ledger exactly.
Approval · S3 · owner — the run stops until a named person records the decision
Compare 2–3 candidates on rate range, arrangement fee, early-repayment terms and whether they lend for this purpose at this size. ⚠ verify each lender's current terms — public price list, checked on the day.
Done when the owner has named the lender, the amount and the term.
Approval · S4 · owner — the run stops until a named person records the decision
Send the application through the lender's channel (branch, relationship manager, or online form).
Done when the lender has confirmed receipt with a reference number, recorded in the loan register.
⛔ Submitting to a third party — always behind the S3 approval, never the agent alone.
Lenders typically ask for bank statements, tax-account statements (vid.gov.lv), asset valuations or explanations of single large movements. Collect each answer from the ledger or the source system — never retype from memory.
Done when the lender confirms the file is complete.
Approval · S6 · owner — the run stops until a named person records the decision
When an offer arrives, extract into one table: amount, term, interest rate (nominal and effective), all fees, repayment schedule, collateral required, early-repayment terms, and any covenant or condition.
Done when the table exists and the owner has seen it before any signature.
⛔ The effective rate, not the advertised nominal rate, is what gets compared.
Enter the monthly payment into the 13-week forecast and the 12-month plan. Show the owner the worst forecast month with the new payment included.
Done when the owner has confirmed the payment is affordable on the worst month, not the average one.
Approval · S8 · owner — the run stops until a named person records the decision
Irreversible · S8 — an agent never closes it alone
The owner signs the agreement and, where required, the collateral documents — a pledge over the asset or property is registered (for immovable property, in the Land Register; ⚠ verify the exact registration step and who files it — the lender's lawyer normally does). Signatures per documents.sign-with-eparaksts.
Done when the signed agreement is in the documents module and the money has arrived, or the asset is delivered.
Enter the loan in the debt list: amount, rate, term, monthly payment, next payment date. Set a reminder five business days before each payment date and a calendar note for any fixed-rate expiry. Link the run to the goal the loan serves (bc goals add or the existing goal). If the application is refused, record the stated reason and stop here — the owner decides whether to retry elsewhere.
Done when the loan is in the debt list with its payment reminders and rate-expiry note, the run is linked to its goal, and a refusal is recorded with the stated reason.
| Symptom | Response |
|---|---|
| Lender asks for figures that contradict the pack | Stop, reconcile the month in question, resubmit the corrected pack — never explain the difference away. |
| Refusal without a stated reason | Ask once for the reason in writing; record it; it usually names the fix (equity, collateral, history). |
| Offer terms differ from what was discussed | Send the S6 table to the lender and ask them to reconcile before anything is signed. |
| The affordable amount is smaller than the purpose needs | Report to the owner with the worst-month number; the owner decides — split, wait, or shrink the purpose. |
| Collateral registration is delayed after payout | Ask the lender in writing for the interim arrangement and record the answer; ⚠ verify interim security rules — lender's legal terms. |
The submitted pack as sent · lender reference number · every lender question and the answer given · the S6 offer table · the signed agreement · the pledge registration number, if any · the S9 debt-list entry · the owner's approvals in S3, S6 and S8 (who, when).
After every 5 runs ask: days from ask to submission, and which step waited? How many lender questions could have been answered in the first pack? Did any offer differ from the discussed terms? Did the worst-month check ever get skipped? A new version changes the step that caused the wait or the skip, and says so in its change note.
